We have settled in to work, school and church. DJ came out for a few months and worked at Sportsman Warehouse. He missed Jezzy to much and went back to Oregon. We will be celebrating their wedding in September back in Oregon. We are very blessed to have such wonderful, sweet and hardworking young lady become part of family. I feel very blessed to have such great children that includes their spouses.

The winter here in Wyoming has been very interesting. We have had snow, ice and more wind than I care to have. usually stay inside when it is snowing and the wind is too bad, I do have to do some traveling for my job but when it too bad we have to cancel appointments. I am gathering some pictures to post soon. Just thought I would do a mini update.

What I did at my new job

Well as all of you know I started a new job, last week. So far I am really enjoying my new position. I have done a lot of reading, more than usual. My primary responsibilities are to help families. I do parenting classes and monitor visitations for children in foster care. Then off course the paper work, No government agency would be worth its salt if they didn’t have loads of paper work.

I spend most mornings at the park with parents and children working on reunification. Then I monitor more visits at the office. then the paper work and reading, I enjoy the children and for the most part the parents. Some are in very difficult life styles. I see such potential in the parents and I also see discouragement in their eyes from failure of faith in themselves. Most have chosen drugs as an escape and the children have suffered along with them for their choices.

I am thankful for the Gospel in our lives and especially the atonement.

What I like most? The kids and their forgiving hearts.
What I like least? The smoking, Co-workers and Parents.

Next week Bethanie starts school! She is very excited to make friends and have something to do.

A New Job for Mom!

Well I start a new job next week, I have not worked a real job outside the house in four years. I will supervises visitations between parents and children in foster. And other duties as assigned. I am excited and a little scared, i have worked with alot of foster children over the years and a few parents who were willing to work with us as foster parents. My high light was of course Hazel and my three other wonderful grand children. We were all together for two days and tried to cram in allot in.

Kirk and heather treated us to a BBQ. Kirk , Ben and Sam took Joe on his first Fishing trip.

Terrie took pictures of all of us, I took a few but Terrie's are much better. I finally got Miss Beth and brought her to Wyoming our new Home. She likes the porch the best too.

Lillie and I had a few minutes together, She informed me that Van is just trouble, he is always grabbing things opening drawers and his is a trouble maker. She is so funny.
Ben Took his turn very seriously to hold Hazel, Lillie was not going to let her Dad forget who's dad he was.
Joseph is so thoughtful he spent all his allowance and bought Hazel a teddy bear.

I love being with my family! We had a great time. David and I are blessed to have such wonderful children and Grandchildren.

I enjoyed visiting with Jason and Deanna, Nephew and his wife who live in Rexburg, They are expecting their first child in August, I think. She is so cute pregnant.

We were missing DJ, he was unable to make the trip. About the size of Medford when we move there in 1986, about 60,000 give or take a little.

If you know my husband this won’t surprise you, The way he was offered the Job was about a 10 minute conversation with a employee of The Scooter Store. They exchanged numbers and away they went. But about twenty minutes later this guy called and told Dave to send his Resume to the company that they were looking for a person with his experience. Within a couple days they offered him his own territory. They made the offer to good to pass up. So her we are seven weeks later in Casper, enjoying being adventurous in a new town that neither of us have live in before.

I am sure you are all wondering how the kids felt about this move; well they are troopers, not to say they haven’t murmured some. But Both Sam and Beth are with us and are willing to make the adjustments for the sake of our family. D J decided he wanted to stay in Medford. We all agreed that it was his choice; He is 20 and an adult. He is now living with a buddy in Medford. I would personally like him here. But ya know what they say; you don’t always get what you want. Deal with it. Oh I guess that what I say.

As for the physical moving it was hard, tiring and uneventful. We stopped by Terries and Enjoyed her family for few days, Celebrated Lillies 6th Birthday. Then went on to Wyoming. The drive from Salt Lake is only 6 hours, that’s half the time from Medford: also 6 plus hours to Rexburg, both good reasons for us to be Casper.

Well the really big news is Kirk and Heather have a new baby girl, 6lbs, 11oz, 18 inches long. Born on our Anniversary, That was a great present Thanks Hazel for choosing our day to come to our family. I am awaiting pictures; I am really trying to be patient. I can hardly wait to hold that little girl. We are going out in a week so that all of us will be there for the blessing.

This week started out uneventful

This week started out uneventful, but that’s not how it ended.
We all of have our usual day to day schedule not a lot to tell school,
work and home stuff. Well Beth started out with a slight cold, she has
laryngitis now. That hasn’t seemed to slow her much. Well Friday seemed
the day when our week got interesting. Mariah had a visit and all seemed to
go well, she was fine when we got into the van. We headed to Wall-mart
to do a little shopping. By time I had pulled into the parking lot Mariah was
not looking to happy. I asked if she still wanted to go into the store. She nodded
her head. I walked around to the van door; I reminded her that she needed to be good
in the store. Well apparently those were the magic words, she fell to the ground
and started screaming. I tried to pick her up and put her back into the van. She wouldn’t let me pick her up. I tried doing a breathing exercise with her. That didn’t work she continued to scream “Ill be good” this went on for about ten minutes. What to do, people were staring so I called my husband. Dave thought we were still at the visit center so that is where he went to help me. Remember we are in Wall-Marts parking lot. So I tried to keep her by the van, She is now rolling on the ground, every time I would try to pick her up she would flop pack to the ground. So I just kept myself between her and the car path way. What seemed like an eternity, Dave called back. Where are you? Right in front of Wall-Mart, then he told me he was at the visit center. So Mariah continued her screaming and kicking. This is the first time she has done this outside the house or car. New and exciting, NOT. Finally Dave came picked her up and strapped her in he car seat, We headed home, she was still screaming. We drove the ten minutes home and finally when I turned onto the street she stopped crying and asked “can we go to Wall-Mart tomorrow”. To my surprise she was able to eat and get on the bus. Well the morning cold have gone better. I thought that nothing could top my morning.

David and I had planned a quiet evening at home. We had just finished playing a game, said family prayer and put Mariah to bed when we decided to call Sam to see if he could pick up Beth from the Ski program, No answer. Just then Dave’s phone rang, All I could here was What Dave was saying and I got the message, Sam had been in an accident involving a Semi. I could feel the adrenaline start, I put Mariah’s shoes on grabbed a blanket and we headed for the van to go to the accident scene. Sam had told his dad he was ok, but I still had a lot thoughts. OK this is what happened. Sam was driving south on I -5 at about 8:45 pm, He felt the front start to shimmy and the saw his tire go out in front of him, across the medium and hit a semi. He slid to a stop a couple inches from a cement center barrier. Sam was not physically hurt, he was a little shaken. Well our night ended with everyone safe home.

Baby News-Sams New Trade- Nintendo

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QCFupOSgggA/R8ovtRi1b9I/AAAAAAAAAAc/i8KnXdrfK2Q/s320/S5000454.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172999576838565842" />

We will be welcoming a new Case baby in July as you all know. Well the ultrasound has told us that the baby is on schedule and healthy, But it has not been revealed whether this will be a girl or boy. I for one was a little disappointed. Grumpy thinks that the baby will be a little girl, and she is just being modest.

Sam has made another trade, this time Toyota four runner. Now he wont be asking for gas money everyday, I can only hope.

DJ is revisiting his childhood by playing Nintendo, his favorite is Excite bike. It has been fun watching him and Dad play Mario and Duck hunt.

We went to Roosters for breakfast this morning with DJ and Sam, It was good food, But even better conversation. Beth chose to stay home and catch up on cleaning her room. Thats age when it is not cool to go with us in puplic.

The Case Family Characters

The Case Family Characters
David, Dad or grampy is the head of our colorful family. His favorite hobby is writing children’s books, which usually include characters with names of his children and grandchildren. He loves his children and his wife to a fault. He will be there first if you’re moving, if you need any kind of help he will help, or find someone to help. His unconditional love has kept the family together for more than twenty five years. He works for a medical equipment company, he loves the people he serves and had made allot friends with co-workers and patients. When we go to the any store he is always introducing everyone to all of his new friends. He also gives 200% to his church calling Ward Missionary Leader. He loves being with investigators and the young Missionaries. We affectionately call him grumpy.

Lisa, Mom or memaw is the mom of course. Over the years she has had a few hobbies with raising kids. Now it is her dog Norm, a Yorkshire terrier that weighs about 7 pounds. She is a stay at home mom and enjoys being at home when the youngest two sometimes three, come home from school. They are Bethanie 14, Sam 16 and a foster daughter Mariah 5. She would like to be in Utah too, to help with the three grand Children. But she takes any opportunity to see them as often as she can. This Bog was actually Terrie’s idea for us as a family to create a bog.

Speaking of Terrie she is the oldest Child, well old isn’t a nice word, but she did turn 29 in Feb 08. Terrie is an exceptional person; she married ten years ago to a great man Ben Nieswender. Together they have three great children. Joe 8, Lillie 5 and Van 1. Terrie is creative, organized and energetic. She is a wonderful mother and takes great pride in do a great job; I guess it's apparent who is writing the blog. (Mom) She has gone back to school to finish her education and is balancing motherhood and education. Both Terrie and Ben are dedicated parents and they have had there share of challenges. Ben works at Westminster College as a Information Technoligist. He earned Bacholors at BYU and his Masters at WGU. Terrie and Ben live in Sandy Utah (to far away) check out The Nieswender family blog at neiswender.blogspot.com

This brings us to Kirk who is 25; Kirk served a Church Mission in Curitba, Brazil. Came back willing to follow what every Mission President councils "Continue your education and find worthy mate". Well Kirk decided on BYUI and called home daily for a week. Wanting to come home, Then a girl caught his eye. Then I had to call him. Heather is the perfect mate for Kirk and now they are expecting their first baby in July 08. He is so excited he again calls home almost weekly to give me reports on how Heather and the baby are doing. Last week he was able to feel the baby kick. Kirk works at Rexburg Motor Sports, attends school majoring in Automotive Engineering. Heather is majoring in Primary Education and takes care of Kirk. (That is a full time jobs in it self.)

Now the true middle child, David Jack, DJ or D as I call him. He will be twenty in April. Well he is now at home injured, a work injury that he earned while actually chasing a bad guy. OK a shoplifter. Still it’s a good story; D tore is ACL (knee) the other guy went to jail. So he is home with mom and dad healing. He still has lots of decisions to make, about life. D has been dating Jezebelle for over a year, they bought a dog together and her name is Dakota Bear, an English bulldog/American Bull dog mix that weighs in at eighty pounds, she lives at our house too. D spends his spare time with Jeze.

Then Our first baby Sam 16, Sam Sam the car man. When he was little he collected Hot wheel box cars. Now he has earned this by trading a dirt bike that was given to him not running. He and his friends got it running and traded it for RX 7, Then another trade for BMW Last trade a Ford Bronco. He is still in High School.Sam is also owner of a boxer named Nina, Weighing in at 70 pounds her ears were cropped before Sam got her and she has a big under bite. Nina is a acquired taste, you either love her or not. He spends his free time on Craig’s list scooping out his next trade.

OK Bethanie is the baby girl, 14 Boofy as we call her. Some would be surprised to know she would give almost anything to live back in Utah with her sister Terrie. This is a daily topic with her, so I am not surprised. She is 8th grade Middle school. Bethanie has recently returned to gymnastics. She has a collection of friends in Oregon California and Utah. She loves to draw and write. She is learning to snow board at Mount Ashland, Not the Utah powder but its snow and we don' have to drive in it. Beth has a cat named Phoebe, weight 12 pounds and taunts Norm the Yorkie. If you been keeping track so far 3 dogs one cat. Beth spends her spare time one the phone.

Now the newest member Mariah has been with us since November, Just before Thanksgiving. Mariah had the good fortune of traveling to Utah with us to meet the rest of the family. She is five so she is the same age as Lillie, So they had a great time playing together. They are both drama queens and love to be Girlie girls. We don’t know how long Mariah will be us. We will have to see what Heavenly father has in store for us.

As I have written just a little about our family, I realize how blessed we are to have such a wonderful family, We have many different interests but we are Family. We are blessed to have the Gospel in our lives. There have been many great memories and many more to share.
